This one, at least, seems to be following the internal logic it's set up for itself. There was no 'Amy using a compact mirror flash a bit of sunlight onto a fish person we've seen in the sun throughout the episode, and he bursts into flame' moment.

Yeah, but they were fighting straw men. Get it? I can't remember who pointed that out.

I see your 'Fear Her' and raise you a 'Love and Monsters'.

Eek, yeah. They better do something with Sam's time being tortured by two of the most powerful beings in the universe for a veritable eternity besides him walking funny. When he appeared on-screen after his recovery, it was a a complete anti-climax.

Thank you Jeebus. My coworkers are wondering what I'm giggling about.

Me too.

Bones has a more narrow premise. It can only be about mysteries involving bones and character drama. Sometimes it can fit a theme in about the lives of the victims.

All Good things is an ending; a summation of where we've been. It's one of the best finales to a television show I can remember. Actually, I think it's my favorite ever. It would have made a poor first film though. The first film needs to be a big launch into new ground.

Good lord yes. Why start with a scene that has zero resonance with the rest of the film?

I hate no movie more than Generations
The destruction of the Enterprise D broke the spell for me. After I watched this film, no fiction was quite as magical. All of my childhood heroes were strangers wearing familiar faces in this film. My favorite fictional ship was tossed aside like narrative garbage as if the

Nana Visitor was the only reason they went back to the mirror universe. Both the good and evil characters wore skin tight uniforms. Her performance as Mirror Kira made it look tighter. She was a proper mad drag queen in those episodes.

I've never read a thing Gaiman wrote before I saw this episode. This is the first episode of the season that actually told a coherent story, and I think that might have something to do with the enthusiasm for it.

Finally someone agrees that they should publish my novelization of that episode!

The Romana regeneration was a dream sequence. There was a microbial alien that had borrowed the DNA of Princess Astra. The had poisoned Romana to death, and nearly killed The Doctor. It forced the regeneration of Romana to the Princess Astra form. The dream we saw was the Doctor's fever dream of a non-canon

Yah. Matt Smith knows how to underplay the emotional bits when he needs to. He's so dorky and flailing and energetic most of the time, the still moments when he's serious make for a great textured performance.

Half a grade?! Death to youuuuuuu!!!

It's not scary because it is in their heads? Well, none of it is really scary because it's a television show. You suspend disbelief so you can get emotionally involved because being scared is fun.

Just about every person that walks into the TARDIS says 'It's bigger on the inside'. The TARDIS walks into a person, and it's poetry.

Well, how bout that. It's not nearly as insightful as the sentence Cookie Monster put up, but I'm honored to be featured on the main page.

@Whovian Completely forgot about the love defusing a bomb. I just loved Matt Smith bluffing the Daleks with a jammy dodger so much I got selective amnesia.
