While I think that's largely true, I don't hear anyone mention Cecil the Lion anymore and all the Harambe memes are pretty much just morbid jokes about a dead gorilla.

I was thinking the wrong gorilla died if this one likes RHCP

Please give it (and Skelethon) more listens. I spent probably two years being kind of underwhelmed by Skelethon and then one day it finally clicked. I have no idea how you've been listening to those albums, but they're definitely not passive listens, even by Aesop standards.

I think this is a fine entry point, so is Channel Orange. Nostalgia, Ultra is fine, but Channel Orange is the Frank Ocean album. I'm not sure about the stuff with your parents. Are you saying their views have resulted in you never listening to rap your entire life? This is sort of that new kind of R&B that mixes in

They probably also know him from singing a single word on The Life of Pablo

pop up shops in four cities that sold out yesterday

That's it! I'm jumping you!

Lonny Breaux was a mixtape. It seems like Frank might consider Nostalgia, Ultra to be his first album as I remember him referring to the Boys Don't Cry project as "album 3," but Channel Orange is considered by many to be his debut album. Endless was a "visual album" and it doesn't seem like anyone thought that counted

I believe it's intentional, though I don't really know what the intent is (someone on the internet was saying one spelling tends to refer to women and the other tends to refer to men), but the cover says "blond" while the official title of the album is "Blonde"

Seinfeld 2000: "What's the deal with this Frank Ocean character? Waiting four years to release a new album?! Who does he think he is, Fiona Apple?"

Blonde

the original name was "Boys Don't Cry," not "Boys Will Be Boys"

It's got Elliott Smith lyrics in it so maybe?

I was leaning more toward it existing, but since you wrote "Fact"…

I went to youtube and searched powder movie trailer and this three and a half minute long video seems to be the official trailer: https://www.youtube.com/wat…

I see your point. I guess it's a case by case basis and, in this case, Amy Schumer's friend has a history of these rants and that would be enough, for me, to not want anything to do with the guy.

The comedian Jermaine Fowler shared this op-ed/film review on social media a few days ago. The best way I can sum it up is that it discusses the old views of how to push boundaries (offend) and the new way (give voice to underrepresented peoples, "radical niceness") https://theringer.com/can-m…

I keep thinking about how Metzger's facebook post and this controversy have helped bring attention to the situation the accused UCB comedian has found himself in, but almost immediately buried that story with discussions about Metzger and his history of misogyny.
Somehow, I don't think he minds that the focus is on him

He is one of those people I resent for not seeming like he deserves his fame and fortune based on my perception of his talents, but he seems like a nice enough guy so good for him.
