Man I wanted to reach through my TV and smack the relish off his smug little face.

Yeah the playful (but not vulgar) butt waggles and come hither looks totally won me over. She's adorable.

I'm with barleycorn, I think he's going to end up making a heap of money as seeing a "shrink" becomes socially desirable for the moneyed class. It seems like settling now, but success later will provide more paths for the writers to explore.

Beware folks, just read in a customer review that Loaf was cropped to 1.33:1 full-frame. I also seem to remember seeing Wrong Trousers in a theater in widescreen, not 1.33:1 but it doesn't look like there's any other option. Sucko.

MBS I'm shocked that you haven't seen the ep of Sports Night where Yeardley Smith makes it quite clear that sisters Mildred and Patty Hill wrote the tune of Happy Birthday. Though, a quick check shows that the tune is in the public domain and some division of Warner Bros. holds a rather dubious copyright on the words.

Don't forget Rhino Handmade either. Sure they were a little heavy on the Doors releases, but they satiated my rabid Devo love.

What else is there to do?
That subject line's a bit rude, but I been led to understand that UT is a hotbed of dancers partly because it's a sanctioned way to bust out the sexy moves. Well whatever the reason, I'm happy that I didn't have to use the FF button on my remote much (I quickly tire of the trainwrecks).

I agree with everything you say (especially the clean up part) and yet I'm going to give a few more eps (with arms crossed and probably glowering). It's going to take quite a leap in quality to overcome my reservations, but I'm holding out hope for some reason.

Yeah the ewww urinal water CPR scene was ridiculous. It was at that point that I was leaning heavily toward bailing on the show, it that's their idea of humor to lighten up the tone I don't have much hope (terrible, terrible jaunty music during that scene too). But then Todd's mention that this is a 2nd ep reminded me

Except depending on the situation "I know way more than these doctors" can be absolutely true. Situation one: new residents who only know book medicine. Experienced nurses teach them a hell of a lot. We all dread July when the new kids come in (or for me, almost every month as they cycle through specialties).

Because she's a lead on a new show called Happy Town that has, I think, a mid-season debut. I was excited that she was in this ep so heavily, but when she drove off, I knew this was the way they were going to write her out. I think I read that she'd still show up sometimes.

The thing that bugged me throughout is that within the flash forwards we see both what the character is seeing through their eyes *and* shots of them doing stuff using the same visual style. Clearly the characters are not seeing themselves from outside their body, so why mix shots of that with shots from their POV?

Well we have a new Chekhov's gun. If a riding lawnmower appears in a scene, then later someone's foot better get chewed up.

I'm completely on the other side of the Community vs. Modern Family comparison. Just didn't care for this at all where I was immediately engaged with Community. Beyond the dearth of humor which is pretty common in pilots and I can excuse, I actively dislike almost every character (Ed O'Neil being the big exception).

I was incredibly disappointed. Various AV Club staffers have been talking this up and I was excited to watch. I think I smiled once. I hate to compare shows, but Community made me laugh out loud multiple times during the first couple eps. Modern Family, nothing. Didn't connect with any of the characters at all and too

Holy shit velvety, Lee Ving singing on Fame! Thanks, my mind grapes are shivering. Praise Bob.

Yeah I did the Scooby-Doo "Arroo?" thing when I first heard about the marriage. Cause he played at being a big ole gay rock star when I saw them live. Like using a mirror-finish dildo as a guitar slide and hitting on guys in the audience. Well, bisexuals are real too so…

Yes Quiet, definitely listen to Pony Express Record. It's weird and gorgeous. I remember hearing "Hit Liquor" while at my college radio station and being captivated by this ugly/beautiful thing. Great live too, I was terribly disappointed they didn't come through Austin. Here's hoping they'll do this again and I can

Oh how my jealousy seethes Tommy.

Yeah this was ridiculously good for a second ep. Deepened the characters significantly while still being really funny. I also appreciate that it's funny by way of jokes *and* characterization.
