I felt like this was Love's Labor Lite as well. As soon as the blood started spilling I shouted "Pitocin! Start fundal massaging!" Got way too into the medical care aspect.

The thing that I always liked about ER was that of all the medical shows past and present, it's the most medically accurate. I started watching the show way before I became a nurse and watching re-runs was impressed by how all that rapid-fire jargon is for the most part right on. Though, the one thing that bugs me

The funny thing about Kellie Martin getting killed off (not the funny part) is that while we all love that episode now, part of the reason she was killed off was that lots of viewers *hated* her character. I remember the big special they had before the season premier introducing her and how she was going to be the new

All thos Sundance films
I can confirm that Passing Strange, Humpday, and Anvil: The Story of Anvil are all fantastic. Didn't care for Moon as much (plot holes! argh). I would add Trust Us, This is All Made Up to the list of quality films.

Dang it, I knew I should have gone to see them during SXSW.

Yeah we talked about that at work. Our unit has very critical patients on it and people do die there. Nothing weird though and I'm night shift. Of course it's brightly lit and bustling 24-7 so maybe the ghosts just don't care for that.

Interactive attendance was waaaay up (people looking for jobs maybe? The vibe certainly wasn't like '01 and '02). Film was about the same. Music was slightly down (though that doesn't include all the throngs in the streets sans wristband or badge).

From all intimations, I'm fairly sure they are going to be more consistently touring. They stated flat-out that Josh is now their permanent drummer (and won't be with NIN anymore).

Devo are *not* a one-hit wonder. Just because retro-80s whatever radio/repackaged CDs plucked out that one song don't make it true. They had multiple songs on charts in various countries and their videos were in regular rotation on MTV. I get antsy about this because I love them, but also because the way bands careers

Sean and I appeared to have the same idea as to the relative sedateness of comedy. With him on all counts (seriously Janeane Garofalo was fantastic, I hoped she taped her set just for the inspiration). Sean did you see Hannibal Buress too? His set was great and completely unexpected.

I saw the SXSW show and was frankly disappointed for most of it. Listless aside from a few moments and all of The Rake's Song (which is wonderful live with all the drum pounding). I hope the record is better but seeing as the melodies just aren't there, I fear not. Meloy needs to go back to writing songs and stop with

Terrible live too, at least at SXSW. He keeps saying "I'm playing [huge number, like 950] times so we're going to keep this short." Perhaps an excuse for how badly he plays/sings.

Amanset & 3EB
The Amanset, er set, made my soul sing with joy. Which was good because that protected it from dying when I saw the massive line for Third Eye Blind on my way to Flatstock. Inside info, 3EB fans deluged the SXSW offices with calls leading up to the conference verifying that, yes, they were playing.

The Par-tay
The free Pabst was appreciated (though I had to drink a lot of water at the American Analog Set show just to get back to homeostasis, hot day). I'd go for a different venue next year if possible. And some hip-hop for a change of pace.

Also not trying to be a hater but Josh you need to be more like Sean, should have gone to Devo.

Hooray for diligence
I admire your work effort Josh, getting home from the clubs and writing up the night. Should have been there for Grizzly Bear. So fucking gorgeous I didn't even care what else I saw tonight (not much good aside from Busdriver). After 15 years of SXSWs and much talk amongst friends of getting

Knowles has been out and about in a non-motorized wheelchair.

Here's the link for the podcast, pictures are up on Flickr. Figure it out for yourself.

Decemberists playing Hazards of Love
Here's what I wrote about the Decemberists show:

Great topic, great subjects, serviceable footage, and no sense of how to edit a film. Watching The Last Beekeeper pained me because all the elements were there, just not put together correctly. Lost opportunity.
