With all the drama they face, I think all the girls on this show are crazy not to be dating Matt. After a few years of battling Originals, vampire hunters, crazy doctors, witches, the entire town council, etc, I think at the end of a long day they'd be happy to just go home and hang out with him. Good 'ol dependable,

"Aaron put on the Fancy Watch Of Great Importance. Work your magic, whatever that may be, Fancy Watch!" - This statement perfectly sums up what I thought too. Is it going to be something like the Gilbert pocket watch?

I hope I'm wrong and it is Misty, mostly so there can be Stevie dance party. Perhaps the Axeman could accompany on the sax?

Um, the whole Kyle/Zoe "I love you" thing? So far there's been nothing to show a real connection between the two except for some eye-gazing/Zoe comforting him after his naked freak out (see: man ass). And last week's resurrection threesome, I suppose. It's hilarious how Zoe is apparently disgusted by the Madison and

Exactly! Just because all of their friends are now supernatural (well, except poor bartender Matt, the token human,) that doesn't mean the rest of the town is. Why would anyone live in Mystic Falls? Crazy paranormal crap is always happening, and no one is trying to cover it up anymore. The mayor was just murderered

Also, I understand how she and Elena are "besties," but could you honestly remain best friends with someone who knew that her ex had raped you and still chose to date him? Seems a little screwed up to me…

If she hates Damon, then she should HATE DAMON. Instead she's constantly hanging around with him and Elena, and occassionally throwing a negative comment at him. If she dislikes him that much (which she should,) shouldn't she avoid interacting with him at all? I sure as hell know I would.

Um, Stefan is always commenting about how he feels horrible about what he's done in the past (when he's in ripper mode.) The writers have decided to focus all the guilt on the murders, not on the abuse/rape/psychological trauma the vampires commit on their victims. And they barely feel bad about the murderering

Not at all.

While the abusing and raping is itself horrible, the fact that so many characters know about what's going on (in the cases of both Katherine and Damon) and do nothing about it, is absolutely appalling. For some reason it's brushed off as them just being vampires.

That would have been a great time for Caroline to actually bring it up with Elena. Honestly, so many missed opportunities!

I completely agree. I don't think that storyline added anything to the
show, and it's frustrating that it was just pushed aside. The writers
can't deal with it without there being serious repercussions for all of the characters. Damon could easily have been the 'bad boy' without any of that happening, and it now keeps

I'd actually like to see a season of Elena and Caroline kicking ass as single ladies, but I don't see that happening. I'd like to see what Elena would be like as a character on her own. All her storylines have been intertwined with the Salvatores. What is Elena herself actually all about?

I really have a suspicion that if The Originals hadn't come along, we would be watching Caroline and Klaus beginning their relationship this season. Though she didn't officially forgive him, it was pretty apparent by the end of last season that they were into each other. You don't flirt/have a crush on people who you

Agreed. The show pushes the boundaries on a lot of things, but I don't think they're necessarily ready to tackle that one yet.

Not that I'm condoning the abuse/raping. That was definitely not okay. Caroline confronting Damon on it would actually be an interesting topic for the writers to pursue. Sadly that part seems to have gotten whitewashed as soon as she became a vampire. Now her Damon-hating comes across as catty, not justified (even

Agreed. It would be a great part of her character for the writers to explore.

It's true that he treated her terribly - that's undeniable - but he has tried to redeem himself in the past couple seasons, including saving her repeated times. I'm not saying she has to like or forgive him, but it'd be nice if she could tone down the Damon bashing to Elena. After all, she not only forgave Klaus, the

I'd give this episode a B-. It was pretty good overall, but the whole Damon-was-a-test-subject thing seemed sort of tacked on.

Haha, I don't know how I missed the dead body in the bathtub. I'm impressed that the writers made sure to cover their bases on that one.
