Kate & Leopold. I saw The Hot Chick in theaters and the recent Huntsman movie too and both of those were better than that stupid time-traveling piece of shit.

I sometimes do from-scratch, four-cheese varieties with a bechamel and sometimes I do blue box. It all depends on the time I have. One tasty, quick treat I've found when I have leftover plain noodles is to mix them with fresh ricotta, a pad of butter, salt & pepper, and grated parm, throw it in the microwave for a…
I'll make a big thing of exactly this during snowed-in days to eat all day.
Fridays during lent often meant a version of this for dinner growing up.
Yeah, as a teenager I would've housed that. Now, it would probably give me indigestion after three forkfuls.
Funnily, I think I would like that embedded John Mayer video if Katy Perry was singing it. It's reminiscent of 'Teenage Dream' (I think they're the same tempo).
Although I've learned to love The Dead in recent years, I would not consider them to be all that exciting either.
'Bigger Than My Body' is the only John Mayer song I can say I like. I'll tolerate others, but that one I like.
Yeah, there was a bunch that crossed my mind for the '70s: 'Saturday Night's Alright', 'Roxanne', 'Reeling In the Years', plus Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac - it's hard to decide. If I had my druthers, the quintessential '70s rock song would be 'Marquee Moon', but I don't think I can argue that.
Looks like you got the '80s & '90s right. '60s I would say 'Purple Haze' and 'Born to Run' for the '70s. The Aughts…hmmm…'Take Me Out' or 'Seven Nation Army' maybe, though something from American Idiot does make sense since it was so popular. For this decade, I would say 'Pedestrian At Best', I think it fits lyrically.
'Don't worry, my floppy hat will protect me.'
And pretty, pretty hair.
This is a testament to how poor the bagel selection within Baltimore City is that driving nearly an hour away is the best option. For all the Bs B-more does well (beer, burgers, BBQ, bivalves, blue crabs), the bagel is not one of them.
Maybe it's that they're couched in a power-pop atmosphere rather than a punk or experimental one, but the sound is deliciously creamy to me. Brendan O'Brien did a great job recording the guitars on 100% Fun.
[coughs up hairball]
I was in a bar yesterday and they must've been listening to some Matthew Sweet Pandora station or something because, like, five of his songs played in the hour I was there. I had forgotten how good some of the guitar work was on his early albums, some of it from Richard Lloyd and Robert Quine. I sat there thinking it…
Great staff picks this week!
I'd really like to see the FJM/Jenny Lewis show at Red Rocks (their only one together?) as I feel like they tread similar ground lyrically (and are both good lyricists in general, though I prefer Lewis) and their sounds compliment each other. Unfortunately, I'm on the East Coast and I would have to move a lot of…
When I visited Montreal a couple of years ago I did not try the bagels, even though I meant to and had heard a lot about them. However, I do think Montreal is an awesome food city. I had many great meals and I don't think i had a single sub-par or even mediocre one. Also, some great coffee. The only drawback was my…
Just show up at her house with a boss jean jacket and Tesla blastin' from your Firebird dude. Ain't no chick immune to that.
