You shouldn't be. It doesn't go over people's heads, you just pretend it does to reject their criticisms or pat yourself on the back for getting lazy jokes that have buzzwords or references to current events in them.

Nothing on South Park holds up well on a rewatch because half the jokes are more topical than funny.
