Yeah, I saw Primer in a little rinky-dink film festival in NC when I was a teenager.

That handjob scene couldn't have been any more magical, though.

Well, Spielberg still has time to do that as does Burton, but it is a silly criticism albeit with one fine point: making the existing material one's own.
Kubrick was always using someone else's material, but it always felt Kubrickian to the core.

I'm thinking about your mom's fur gully.

Congratulations, I hope it's a Carrie-themed wedding.

Yes, we're both cool now.

I have a chair with a shoebox on it that is currently supporting over 40 Blu-rays stacked up at least two feet high in two stacks.

When are they going to punch out the Nazi factory?!

I'll admit that I don't always pay full attention to English-language movies that don't immediately grab me (I can listen darn well, though), but Eternal Sunshine works just as well visually as thematically.  Not sure what's not to like about that one.

I first saw a Malick film when "The New World" was listed here as one of the best films of the decade.

I wasn't enthused about the cover at first, but it does fit the understated pulp beauty of the movie that wouldn't work with any other Malick movie.

I just saw this movie months ago on that very disc.  In a flimsy box worn thin by library use, it held a treasure.  Plus, Sissy Spacek is damn hot in that pale waif sorta way.

Yes, this exactly.  There's plenty of depressing Bergman out there, but The Seventh Seal is not one of them.

And for white people, no less.

Badlands and Days of Heaven were when Malick was perfectly straddling the line of beauty and story.

You can get a license to kill from Russia with love.

If George Michael gets a chubby, he will suck it up.

Heard of who?

I saw this film last summer in Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens, and Nina Conti was there with her little monkey pal.  Charming from start to finish, that monkey never missed a beat.

Did Jesus eat pork?  And if so, did he have chitterlings?
