I think that was a voluntary rule that the networks imposed on themselves, much like they don't show commercials for hard liquor. Cable isn't beholden to those rules.

I think this was it for me on Modern Family. Everyone was on the wrong side of the funny/sociopath line, and the whole thing was just grating.

Any Fosse lover needs to watch Kiss Me Kate, to see Fosse in his prime doing his own choreography. It's brief, but amazing, and for me it clicked into place how all those postures and movements that would become ticks and cliches, were how the guy just moved naturally.
