I watched Buffy, Angel and Firefly all for the first time this year with my girlfriend, who's a big Joss Whedon fan (and now I guess I am too), so sadly for me I missed the vast bulk of these reviews.  I think I'll probably have to take a trip through the archives.

I'm not really sure how that analogy could possibly hold up.  It seems to assume that amber is as good at preserving DNA over millions of years as a boat is at keeping people from drowning for a few weeks.  That's not exactly a given, and I suspect it's very, very false.
