All I can do is tell the truth.  I don't see what the location of the "feminist front" has to do with anything.  I also don't see why it's not worth my time and effort to poke my head in every once and a while and express my opinion that Family Guy has gone beyond the pale.

Well, the word is derived from French, and the "ont" pronunciation is the older one.  You could just as easily call the "ant" pronunciation a perverse corruption.  I can't think of a single other English word, after all, that spells the phoneme /æ/ with the letters "au."
