Honestly, that sounds fuckin' hilarious.
It's lame as shit, but don't assume that all the servers hate doing it. A lot of aspiring theater types in those jobs.
Still a thing, but definitely on the decline. Numerous locations in Southern California have been shuttered in recent years, and the Hooters Casino in Vegas has been something of a disaster.
Sucker Punch. A movie with amazing scifi visuals, smokin' hot girls kicking ass, and Jon Hamm. It should be awesome, or at least watchable in a late-night cult sort of way. But no, he managed to make it suck, and suck hard.
"Louie" certainly has moments of greatness, but it's so relentlessly self pitying that it can be predictable and even kinda boring. It's basically like watching a funny, appealing comedian get shit on for 30 minutes. The Late Show arc was good though.
Haven't read it myself, but to answer your question http://marvel.com/comics/is…
Every major Marvel character is now a franchise unto him/herself. There are multiple Captains America, Thors, Spider-Men, Iron Men, Wolverines, Hulks, shit, there's even a group of Deadpools now. It's a pretty shrewd marketing ploy and sorta equal parts ridiculous and awesome.
Maybe because he's the only one of that bunch from whom we expect somewhat better things? I mean, nobody expects more from Fallon or Kimmel than what they're currently delivering.
I don't think he would be interested in going the Netflix route, though. He seems to want the prestige of the big, juicy network role even with its obvious limitations. Kinda like how Conan was obsessed with hosting the Tonight Show, just because it's the Tonight Show. I also sorta wonder if Conan ever regrets not…
I got the Marvel Unlimited app a while ago and am pretty amazed at how comprehensive it is … with a very few exceptions, it has pretty much EVERYTHING (6+ months old of course). It's even got some stuff from the '30s and '40s.
I wouldn't argue that those are all good movies, or even that they're not dated, but it's not like any of them are forgotten, either. People talk about/reference them all the time.
I would like to see him do more comedy roles, actually. I mean, when he's on break from the MCU. Snowpiercer was okay but didn't really play to his strengths.
Superior to Bats v Supes, right? They have the same central premise, after all, even if the story and circumstances are wildly different.
There was a recent New York Times article in which one lucky writer accompanied Will Forte to a karaoke club, and he mentions that he and Sudeikis sing karaoke a lot when they hang out. I love that they managed to bring their shared love of karaoke into their primetime TV show.
awesome, it's like reading facebook, but here at the AV Club
I'm wondering whether all those layers are a Charlie and Frank "I found this great coat in the dumpster" thing or a Dennis and Dee "Crack gives you the eternal shivers" thing.
And really, what job does let you do whatever you want, without any interference from the folks financing it? Especially with hundreds of millions of dollars at stake. I do think Marvel is to be commended for giving its directors as much freedom as they do, and if that freedom doesn't happen to be absolute freedom, ……
Ha, "visions" from the Scarlet Witch. Nice phrasing. Honestly, I love Age of Ultron way more than most people here, and after rewatching it recently I realized that the lion's share of that love is just for Bettany's performance.
I'm not saying Avengers 2 was better than 1, but 1 certainly also had the same flaw you're describing here. I like both movies a lot but both get pretty wearisome during their big climactic fights against CGI armies.
