@avclub-cc5b3987fdda8edb89d6f82eb0d64fed:disqus Totally agree on Manzanita. Their Gillespie brown is outstanding. I've heard nothing but good things about Alpine too, I really need to get out there and check that out.

You know what I'm saying? And that's what I'm saying.

The Green Flash tasting room is really cool. It's a huge open space, and there's a nice outdoor area too. It's a great place to go if you have a group of folks (compared to Hess or even AleSmith where there isn't a ton of room).

I thought it was terrible too. Every time I see it mentioned as a good movie I have to google it again thinking, wait, that wasn't that shitty movie with Rose Byrne was it? And then before you know it I'm balls deep in a Rose Byrne google image search. What were we talking about

And everybody remembers that time they broke loose and reigned apocalyptic terror on the entire earth, basically killing every living being in the most painful and gruesome way possible. Man, what a weekend that was!

Nice, thanks. Societe is actually really close to my new job location; I've been meaning to go check it out but just haven't found the time yet. I'll remedy that soon.

You're nuts, man! N-V-T-S, nuts!

This pretty much sums up my feelings about it too. Another great side effect is that a lot of my favorite comedians who live in L.A. come down and do shows in San Diego during the week.

I liked the Amazing Spider-Man a lot, until the end. The last 40 minutes or so were pretty lame. But I generally feel that way about most superhero movies, including the Avengers and the last two Iron Mans. Men? Iron Mens? Line?

Anybody else in SD going to the Comedy Bang Bang show at the HOB tonight?? Hash tag comic con, hash tag myyy wiiiife!!

I know, it's like, opposed to what? Not smoking too much hash? Is that even a thing?

You can't have a Hip-Hopera without a Hip-Hopopotamus!

Also, I don't believe Rorschach was supposed to be a midget.

I "re-discovered" Pet Sounds recently and have been playing Sloop John B pretty much on a loop since then, so I was happy to see this too.

THE A.V. CLUB
at home, masturbating

Logically, he would've undoubtedly crossed paths with her a few times at Lucille's apartment over the years, but I buy the gag that he doesn't remember her. In the scenes where the whole family is together, he's always super quiet and pretty much off in the background anyway, so the joke works for me.

I absolutely wouldn't have caught that if Erik hadn't pointed it out. Cera's "George Ma … harris" line reading made me laugh on its own, but they really went above and beyond with that one. Unless that reference is better known than I realize. Still impressive though.

I always thought it was a pretty spot-on joke aimed directly at coastal Orange County, that whole conservative Newport Beach society, which is very insular.

@avclub-3db41011acc2d229176bf6a92202728d:disqus and here I always thought Tom Sawyer was added to the film to win over the Rush fan base

I don't even OWN a weird hand feel
