I saw Jay Z and Nas perform together at Rock the Bells.

Salaam Remi was stealing money from Nas during that period.

Rappers tend to peak early. For most rappers their most highly regarded albums are their debut or second album.

This year was sort of the exception to the recent trend. In 09,10, 12 and 13 there were plenty of Oscar contenders that did well in the box office.

And generally the Academy selections over what movies to honor have shown more diversity than Hollywood in general…. well at least when it comes to the acting categories. In recent years we have seen Lupita Nyong'o, Octavia Spencer, Monique, Forrest Whitaker, Morgan Freeman Jamie Foxx, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry

I honestly first learned about when I was reading about Diego Maradona and his performance against England in 1986 when I was a kid.

Prepon and Schilling do have chemistry but, my problem with Prepon 's role is I just can not buy her as this big time drug dealer. Especially when you know a little about the person her character was based off.

Well he would not be the only one. Nas, Wu Tang Clan, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Brand Nubian, Jay Electronica, MF Doom, Erykah Badu, Common, Black Thought, Ras Kass, Busta Rhymes, Cormega, Queen Latifah, Large Professor, Tragedy Khadafi, Black Sheep, Talib Kweli, Jadakiss and even Carmelo Anthony at one point or another

I think Waltz and Mo'Nique won every award they were up for in those categories. For Bridges some though Clooney might get the upset for Bullock the competition was Streep.

I think you can say that for Foxx, Cuba Gooding Jr and Halle Berry the rest have not really been given much of a shot.

I guessing Denzel and Freeman are the two. But, Foxx and Whoppi did win for their second nominations(for Foxx that first nomination was that night).

I still play basketball and soccer when I get the chance and I know plenty of "adults" who still do the same.

That line really fits in to the theory I heard that Drake is the best at rapping about the mundane.

If he tried this with one of his fellow rappers that might happen. Joe Budden said on a youtube video that he was a better rapper than Method Man and got a black eye for it.

And some have tried to infer that Kanye sort of "revived" Jay Z's career(there was an AV Club list that basically said that) but, during Jay Z's best years (00-03) he generally sounded better on Just Blaze tracks(Dynasty Intro, U Don't Know, Public Service Announcement)

Well he quoted the one song everybody knows from Beck.

Rather be a dick than a swallower. (I can not be the first to post this line on this thread).

There is a point about the Grammys ignoring hip hop and R&B acts but constantly using himself and Beyonce as an example hurts his point since they are two of the few acts the Grammys recognize. If he really wanted to properly shed light on it he should ask why an act like Run the Jewels were completely ignored while

Knowing Kanye's musical taste I would expect him to listen to an artist like Beck

Has anyone watched NYCB's youtube series? Watched both seasons pretty interesting.
