I think in that chapter she also talks about how amazing Amy Poehler's Sarah Palin rap was, in that she totally brought it while nine months pregnant. And she's right — in two pregnancies now I have found that to be a huge inspiration.

Steve Martin is always great, and he has fantastic comedic chemistry with Tina Fey. I don't know if it's their timing or what, but in Baby Mama, on 30 Rock, presenting an Oscar — any time the two of them are together it's gold.

That reminds me of one of my favorite B-plots from MitM — the parents can't have sex for a week, due to some tests or something the mom has to have, and in that week they have SO MUCH ENERGY. Up every morning making pancakes, landscaping the yard, you name it.

Also the way she shook her head when Alex asked if that drink was really a hangover cure….

I can't remember the exact circumstances of the episode from last season, but I think the show has done a good job of not pretending that Alex isn't attractive just because she's smart and wears glasses. And I think the character of Alex is aware that she's attractive — she's just not interested in putting in as much…

There was, and I don't think they showed him — despite showing some people with only tenuous links to television (Steve Jobs, Whitney Houston, Donna Summer).

Yes! I follow the same guidelines! I hate Trapper so much I can't watch any of the early episodes. And I love Winchester — and loved all his interactions with Klinger — but christ, the show got tedious at the end.

Last week's episode made a big deal about it being near spring break and Easter (well, maybe not a big deal, but there were dialogue hints and signs in the background). So it makes sense that they're still in school, but not that basketball is still going on.

For an early great episode, I'd also have to nominate Rory's Birthday Parties. That's another one that does a great job of showcasing the two worlds that Rory is trying to navigate. (Also, it was the first episode of GG that I saw, and the one that got me hooked, so I'm partial to it.)
