Yeah, Rory's season 7 storyline was pretty interesting, especially because it wasn't just all about her romantic relationships.  I also thought the way the show wrapped up her storylines at the end of season 7 was pretty much perfect.

I actually really liked the Lorelai/Rory rift, especially because it was another round of Rory flirting with her grandparents' world.  That was always a theme lurking under the surface, so it was nice to see it played out more.  But as others have said, it was the Luke having a kid thing that just really fucking…

I enjoyed this episode so much I actually looked up Beth Schacter to see what else she'd written.  How nice to have delightful dialogue that didn't get bogged down in quirk.

Maybe the slow plot development is intentional, because it's a summer show?  I'm enjoying just sinking into this show every week, but maybe I wouldn't be as patient if it were fall already and it had to compete for screen time with more fast-paced shows.
