The worst part about the Boo scenes is the actress playing her mother — she's TERRIBLE.  It's so distracting.

When I saw gray hair from the back, I was so afraid we were getting Taylor Doose, and I was thrilled to get Tom.  I love Tom the contractor/construction guy!

I also typically cringe when I see his name as the writer credit, but he also wrote "Scene in a Mall", which is another one of my favorites.  (Dang, but the second half of season 4 was perfect.)

Gilmore Girls is indeed just plain awesome.  There were lots of interesting relationships between women on the show.  In addition to the mother-daughter pairs (Emily-Lorelai, Lorelai-Rory, Mrs. Kim-Lane), you also had Lane-Lorelai, Mrs. Kim-Lorelai, and Emily-Trix.

I just can't believe that I didn't recognize Gregg Henry.  It must have been the surfer hair.

And not to spoil things too much, but there's a lot of payoff in season four of things that were set up early in the series.

Yes yes yes yes yes!  Not that I need an excuse to haul out my GG DVDs and rewatch them . . .

I'm sure Jane Espenson and Amy Sherman-Palladino would be delighted to hear that.

Start with Rory's Birthday Parties, which is the sixth episode of season 1.  If that's the first episode you watch, you can pick up on all the family and town dynamics from that episode.  Also, it's a fantastic episode.

It's better than The Blind Banker, but otherwise one of the weaker episodes of the entire series.  The next two I think are legitimately fantastic (although I appear to be alone in my affection for Baskerville).

I actually liked Baskerville quite a bit, in part because I get tired of supervillains.  The last half-hour or so of it is fairly intense and well-done.
