Birkhoff had two Moments of Awesome: "How do you like me now?!" and, indirectly, the moment when Amanda spits out his name, cursing his resourcefulness.
Nikita's takedown of the corrupt secret-service guy in the tunnel was a thing of beauty—the way she "walked" the walls and the ceiling to twist his neck. It's great when the show capitalizes on Maggie Q's tiny frame and finds creative ways for her to defeat bigger opponents.
This was especially noticeable earlier in the show's run. Episodes would start with a short voice-over mission statement that would serve double-duty as Previouslies. Nikita's mission, and thus the show's premise, kept changing, and it was awesome.
So Sonya is not a mole of any sort? She got a suspicious amount of unnecessary airtime last episode—she was inserted into scenes with pretty much everyone, odd pairings that seemed to have been written for other characters, in some cases. (E.g., Alex confides in her rather than in Nikita. Also, Sonya and Birkhoff…
