When I Was a Kid
I remember watching that "Invaders" episode, which gave me the major creeps. Don't know if it's the best starting point, with its dearth of dialog, but it's in the tops for tension.

Tim Burton's The Catcher in the Rye

Liquid Television kicked ass. Watched it plenty at 10 central in the dorm.

I watched it as well back in the 90s when it originally aired. I thought it sucked; funny sketches were definitely the exception rather than the rule.
