Creature in 3D is great, isn't it, weirdly dreamlike in parts. Actually quite like the old anaglyph system for older films
Oshima was a fascinating filmmaker who was plagued by ill health, and whose last film, the excellent Gohatto, was made after he had lost the power of speech after a stroke. He's probably only known to some because of Ai No Corrida or Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence, but there's so much more to his body of work worth…
