True, but it wasn't any less by the numbers than those movies. Hell, Transformers 2 was way weirder - though it was an unpleasant kind of weird. I just found it odd that I left the theater going "Robots punching monsters is a can't fail solution" and immediately remembering the robots punching stuff movies I hated.
