It was a sad day indeed when AMC started doing original programming instead of just showing old movies.

One of the best parts of being a father is getting to watch kids' shows. We haven't had cable for a couple years, but I used to really enjoy Fairly Oddparents and Thr Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy (which once had Malcom McDowell guest voicing a vampire who just happened to sing a verse of Singing in the Rain).

Yes, I can't imagine the tragedy of living in a world without "Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da".

Lennon a poseur? Wow, that may actually be the stupidest fucking thing I've ever read on the internet. Kudos to you, that's a pretty low bar to crawl under.

Anybody going to Manhattan between 1955 and 1979?
Can you take care of Mark David Chapman? I mean long as you're gonna be there…

Hashbury, 1964-1969. Five years of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. There are birth control pills but not Herpes or AIDS, and Jimi Hendrix every weekend at the Fillmore. The weed is weaker (but plentiful) but the acid is stronger (and also plentiful). I'll seek out McGillicuddy so we can talk about our lives when we

I don't think the 80's really started until about 1983. And they sucked. Hard. The only worthwhile part was the arcades.

Largely agree with Futurechimp, but I like the versions of "Sparks" and "I'm Free" on the movie soundtrack better than the ones on the original album. Of course there's a bunch of better versions of "Sparks" played live. And it wasn't bad as part of the Rael suite either.

Melissa Joan Hart's a conservative? Say it ain't so!

No, because my mom isn't 13.

What they all said.

I hope everyone is alright.
More importantly, I hope Kari Byron is alright.

@DTH: As any grumpy old man can tell you, the opening bars of "Dust in the Wind" aren't strummed, they're plucked.

***Spoiler Alert***
It's a cookbook.

Similar thing happened to my older brother. Pretense was guys were gonna sell him some weed, ended up stealing his money, smoking a lot of crack, and making him smoke a lot of crack. These things happen, I guess.

@poisonCandy: It does seem like with the multiplatform titles the 360 versions have a slight edge. I think developers are targeting it and porting to the PS3. That being said, IMO the PS3 has the better exclusives (Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, God of War). Plus it doesn't cost any extra to play online on the PS3. So

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway isn't odd enough for you?
Dude bones with a snake-girl and has to get his johnson cut off to cure the monsterism is causes. That's textbook odd.

If you're new to Zevon, I highly recommend Warren Zevon (actually his 2nd album, I believe), Excitable Boy and Learning to Flinch (live). A lot of his post-Excitable Boy stuff was, to my ears, overproduced, but the stripped-down versions on Learning to Flinch are amazing.

The collected works of Monty Python
Used to watch Flying Circus on PBS as a kid. Now I've spread it to the next generation. Course there's still bits of Meaning of Life my young'ns aren't allowed to watch, but in good time.
