Flying Over Water- Jason Isbell
Sea Of Love- The National
Cry For Judas- The Mountain Goats
Who Are You- The Who
Buzzcut Season- Lorde
Disorder- Joy Division (the Les Bains Douches live version)

WAIT!
When The AV Club divided to form the Dissolve, people said it felt like it was getting divorced. So with that analogy, the AV Club got married to NuDisqus and everybody hates his/her new man/woman.
(that made more sense before I wrote it down)

the waveform… blerfgh

"All of our Tony Awards won't keep me out of Betty Ford's…"

Reminds me of one of my dad's favorite jokes (that I totally didn't copy and paste off the internet):

It's starting… we must stop this before he takes over the whole AV Club. That would be worse than the Descendants- OH GOD IT'S HAPPENING TO ME.

This is a tangent, but I hate LA Weekly and the SF Weekly's blogs.
To paraphrase Laura Marling,

This is my problem with Royals… it's not hard to imagine a rich kid singing along to the chorus, not knowing the song is actually making fun of him/her.

It would probably make a better film than The Book Thief, come to think of it.

Agreed. If "You're Not The One" doesn't get famous "Royals" style, I'll be disappointed.

John Teti did a VERY good O'Neal-style snark here. Great job.

I want them to do 1924 week for April Fools Day next year.

And then essays criticizing said cheap nostalgia mining.

I Want My MTV was great (even though someone I know was featured in it and she wasn't represented too well).
Unfortunately this seems closer to the Simpsons oral history end of the spectrum, and even though I really enjoyed that book, it definitely had its problems.

Nick GAS was the SHIT. I was too young to watch some of the shows, so I watched reruns of them all the time when I was little.

For some reason I read that last sentence in Lorde's voice, imagining her singing something like that.

Anyone else read this as "The horror of Clue"?

I thought he was doing The Knife of Never Letting Go! That better not get stuck in development hell for 20 years as Patrick Ness gradually reveals himself to be a homophobe…

Rick James Blake Lewis Black

I would have preferred Laura Marling (Once I Was An Eagle being my favorite album of 2013 and all), but I'm totally fine with this.
