Anyone have any theories as to why Don was reading the old newspaper with JFK's death as the headline? What's the symbolism?
Yep, Harry's a wild card. I can easily see him explaining to Don that he already did him one solid and now he's just got to lookout for his own interests, sorry.
Yeah, that comment about Peggy also stood out for me. Peggy's worked her magic many times, that's why she's at the level she's at today and not just a secretary or copywriter.
Don's birthday is June 1st, no Zou Bisou Bisou this year :(
Interestingly, those who are most loyal to Don were the ones that most annoyed Don in the past. When Megan was planning Don's surprise party she told Peggy that Don really didn't like Harry and of course Pete and Don have had their moments of conflict.
Interestingly, Todd mentioned that they weren't changing the two reviewer/back and forth format in part due to the high click volume. So, does that mean they think everyone loves the reviews and there are just a few loud naysayers but in reality people just love a place to comment and that's why there are so many hits…
:) Jordan Orlando to comment on how much he hates Sonia in 3, 2, 1…
I also like how he told Trudy what she was doing (going out on a date) was immoral because she has a child. Interesting choice of words ("You have a child!" rather than "You're a mother!") because HE has a child and just had airplane sex with his girlfriend who he's also showing off in his office.
Right, there was the scene where Joan fired his secretary for having someone else time stamp her time card and then Harry came back and told her it wasn't happening and that Joan was just being petty and fires girls all the time (completely undermining that she could have a legitimate reason).
Funny how Don didn't even look offended or get defensive about that comment.
Yes, it looked like that was all it was. Don and Megan: rich UESers surviving on spaghetti and booze, mainly booze though.
What was Don thinking during his dance with Peggy? His facial expressions showed about a million thoughts running through his mind!
This week on Mad Men: Megan makes spaghetti, again.
Isn't it kind of funny that the relationship between Stephanie and Don is now portrayed as very platonic, familial, lovely but when he initially interacted with her Don actually did try to sleep with her and only stopped because she ruined the mood by telling him about Anna's cancer?
Was wearing wigs or hair extensions in during the 60s? Because Megan's hair is shoulder length before the party and then at the party (and the morning after) she's sporting long, big hair. And great observation by someone below that Megan is kind of glammed out while everyone else at her party is more easy-going…
I guess I'm in the minority but I was kind of bored by this episode. I did wince at the cut up nipple in a box but overall the episode seemed to go on and on and on. It wasn't one of those times that everything was so exciting that you wonder where the time went. At least, not for me.
Aside from the "new," the sentence felt odd to me. What was the implication? That Betty tried to do the same thing but didn't succeed so she moved on to a new man? Their trajectories don't really seem parallel to me. Did anyone have a different take on what that sentence in the review could mean?
The child actor's name is Jacob Guenther. Yep, judging from that name he's totally Mexican. I'm just kidding, I don't know his background. But neither do you so let's just take that shovel away from you before you keep digging yourself a deeper hole.
Yep. Megan's always been the anti-housewife. In this episode we hear all the amazing things Betty's putting out and then we hear Megan's usual fare of spaghetti.
