I find that TVD often starts off strong, then the wheels fall off the wagon about half way through where they lose the threads of the season

because this show is so dedicated to keeping their characters consistent…

you people are way too idealistic- for one thing, in real life she and francis probably didn't consummate their marriage, and mary fell in love multiple times after that. Mary is dumb, both historically and on this show.

I thought silas was fun for a while, but then they added another elena doppelgänger and his ex-wife, and then that magic hating coven… it was just too much, and none of it was particularly scary or cohesive.

it's not even that i don't like him, it's just that i find this storyline incredibly boring. Turning mary into a calculating catherine like murderer is way more interesting than her just complaining and francis pouting.

… i think that's because they didn't have any idea who the twins really were last season. TVD doesn't seem like one those shows that has seasons mapped out on a board somewhere.

it's funny and sad how many vampire diaries (and reign for that matter) storylines you could classify as wholly unnecessary

I think i heard somewhere that they like tony regbo so they'll be slowing that timeline down. Which means a lot of spinning wheels because mary can't get pregnant and francis can't die

I don't REALLY care because I'd prefer a storyline of Mary saying 'you're going to be a terrible husband francis! Well fuck you, I'll sleep with your cousin ', instead of Mary just complaining that she doesn't trust her anymore.

I just think that TVD is a classic case of a character making a statement and then next episode saying, never mind.
And not that I have any interest in elena and stefan getting back together, but I would have thought removing her memories of damon would bring back some lingering ones about stefan.

The twins twist is INSANE. I guess we're supposed to care about which twin survives? I vote the drug dealing gay twin instead of the annoying blonde one.
