I prefer that version quite frankly, exactly because it takes some liberties with the (quite unadaptable, imo) source material and thus manages to stand on its own.

The miniseries isn't bad, and recreates pretty much the whole plot of the novel, but forgets that the plot isn't really the most relevant aspect of it.…
