Wha?  That cover is excellent!  Creepy bones are an AiC hallmark.  Not to mention the secret image (look it up).

Again, it's not that he isn't a nerd.  But like a celebrity talking about the plight of the poor, he's just not relatable.  And I'm not dissing the podcast.  I like it, he has great guests.  He's just the wrong face (or voice) for it.

I've often said I don't care for Hanks' movies because he's too big — no matter how heavy the accent or how big the beard, I see TOM HANKS! ACTING!  But I like his older, comedic stuff.  And he was REALLY funny in the Nerdist interview.  I actually felt bad for ever dissing him.  So while it reinforced the fact that

I didn't say success means he can't nerd out.  But he makes a poor spokesman for nerdliness.

Now, HE is someone who I don't understand why anyone would hate.

You keep proclaiming to know why people dislike him, yet you seem to have not read any of the actual complaints.  It's not his excitability or his positivity or even his success.  It's the self-centeredness in his interviews and his unrelatability.

This article actually exemplifies why some of us don't like the guy.  Even when it's someone like Mel Brooks, it's all about HARDWICK.  You tell him to pick his favorite episodes, and here's what he says:

Here's my issue with him: the premise of the podcast is that he's a nerd just like the rest of us.  But the truth is, he runs in the same circles as many of his guests.  I don't find someone who had multiple jobs at MTV while I was discovering They Might Be Giants to be relatable.  Good for him, he's a hard worker and

I suppose that's true about Bones.  Maybe I'm conflating her with Zooey.

S'cool.  Thanks for not flaming me over my OP.

I don't mean to say it was intentional.  Maybe "overloooked" or "ignored" would have been a better word.  Part of it is Noel's own position, of course, relating more readily with these male characters.  Then there's the fact that it's less common in girls, and as a result there are less of these characters.  Female

Then there are the girls with autism, who continue to be marginalized, even in an article heralding the diversity of autism.
