@Thats_Unpossible:disqus @avclub-e1e84d33778737c0a16ede94d51f3752:disqus I think it was David Bowie.

The only person who routinely called her on it was Emily, but she usually did it in such a way that it seemed malicious so you were kinda on Lorelai's side anyway.

Except for Adam Brody's Dave Rylgalski, Lane has pretty poor taste in guys.

I agree. Sookie and Jackson and their "four in four" (although it was more like three in four) were a great foil to Lorelai's comparatively tumultuous love life.

Even then he was a tool.

I appreciate that Lorelai is well-rounded character with flaws. Absolutely. It makes her all the more interesting.

Lorelai's "rules" seem like remnants from years past, when those types of self-imposed guidelines would have been a good thing for Rory. But at this point it's so transparent and used as a crutch, essentially. Lorelai's fear of commitment is well-documented throughout the series, and it's often infuriating.

Welcome to week six of the debate of Lorelai's various romantic partners.

"I can't believe you set me up with that." But this isn't even Rune's peak! I still laugh out loud every time he changes in the kitchen in "Bracebridge Dinner."

"This song will change your life."

The power of dogs.

Hugh Dancy, with this role, completely takes the cake.

@avclub-3bca94e353e508c1a49bf984fc5c346d:disqus I don't actually have much of a problem with Rory until the final few S5 episodes, when she just gives up on Yale. That seemed like a very un-Rory thing to do. And then all the ridiculousness of S6 and that awful fight with her mother.

I actually think a Rory Gilmore/Angela Chase hybrid would be my favorite TV character ever. As it is the two are kind of eerily similar. "He leans great."

Absolutely. They deserved each other and all the negative and positive connotations that phrase brings with it.

Now I'm imagining an incarnation of Gilmore Girls with Claire Danes as Rory. This is weird.

UGH the Birkin bag. *vomits*

And the Santa burger! "No one has ever made me something quite this disgusting."

The part that makes me cringe about that line is that Dean is SO obviously NOT a bad boy that he comes off as a poseur. This is the guy who made Rory a medallion bracelet for her birthday. COME ON.

Alexis Bledel's acting abilities (or lack thereof) are the only drawback of these episodes.
