Anyone remember the WB promo featuring stars from its 2000 fall TV lineup? It was set to a modern version of 'Oh What A Night" and I remember really wanting to be a part of that club scene. I'm too lazy to look it up but i'm sure its on youtube.

I'm hoping Janey-E doesn't die but the more I think about it, that may be the thing that sets off the fuse in Coop's head with flashbacks to Laura Palmer and Annie. It would be a bit disappointing to have Naomi Watts' character basically be a plot device. We'll see.

This particular shade of green is also sometimes referred to as 'Harlequin.' Make of that what you will…

Just a quick observation about something that's been on my mind: ever since the original series run, it always seemed like there was something not quite right about the opening credits and the 'Twin Peaks' title card. It looks like it was created using crappy MS Word Art with an off-putting neon green outline, made

Ah, The Last Express. That was a great game.

Love the scenes with Gordon Cole and Albert Rosenfeld. The way Cole says "Albert?!" when they learn that Cooper is in custody is great. It's extremely sad knowing Miguel Ferrer is no longer with us. He's always stolen every scene he was in.

Prince's guitar solo at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is sublime. What's crazy is that you can see him break a guitar string early on in his solo, and he gestures to Tom Petty with a smirk when he realizes what's happened.

Excited for this. I'm also hoping this movie nabs Roger Deakins his first Oscar win.

I watched The Lost City of Z in theaters, based on the recommendation from this site. I wasn't a huge fan of The Immigrant even though the AV Club loved it, but this seemed interesting to me.

AD Miles comes off as a genuinely hilarious guy based on the behind the scenes footage of Wet Hot American Summer, constantly cracking up Amy Poehler and the whole cast. The documentary 'Hurricane of Fun' has some pretty good footage from the set.

I saw Kong and was very underwhelmed. The characterizations were paper thin and everyone was completely forgettable, save for John C. Reilly. It was a huge waste of Larson, Hiddleston, and Sam L Jackson.

Watching it live was definitely cringe-worthy, but seeing it again afterwards made me feel that the situation was handled about as well as could be expected. Horowitz took charge and expressed pride in giving the award to Moonlight, which was classy and deserving of applause.

"See, there was another Bill - an evil Bill. And I killed him."

I have to say, this has the opposite effect of making games less boring. I've watched a lot of baseball games but some of the moments that stick in my mind are the times something happens when it clearly shouldn't. Like Jim Thome smacking an IBB pitch for a single to center to score a run. Or the times when a 100 MPH

I imagine it must feel like throwing a party at your house, seeing your girlfriend leave with another man, and being left to clean up the place.

I've had balut on a number of occasions. It tastes, unsurprisingly, like chicken and eggs. Just add some salt and little vinegar and you're good to go. The reviewer is right - it's the thought that's more repulsive than the actual meal.

I've tried Pliny the Elder and didn't care for it, but thats just my own personal taste. I like beers with above average hoppiness but there's definitely a threshold beyond which it's actually difficult for me to drink and finish a beer. Pliny crosses this threshold for me.

I wrote in last week's AVQ&A that Johnny Cash's Hurt never failed to give me goosebumps. Still true.

Just finished this yesterday and was wondering when the AV club review would come out. I love Norm and there were a lot of laugh-out-loud moments in the book, but in spite of myself i couldnt help but feel disappointed that there wasn't more real-life substance to it. Norm is exactly the type of person that would be

Johnny Cash's "Hurt" is what immediately came to my mind. Especially the last 30 seconds or so. Never fails to give me goosebumps.
