Um… you'll find out soon enough.
Um… you'll find out soon enough.
Well, with only 7 episodes in a season, they definitely had it all written before they started shooting.
Flash forward
I've already watched all of Series 2, but when I re-watched this episode I was impressed that I caught scenes of upcoming episodes in Curtis's eye, right as he was starting his "flash forward."
That episode where they made the music video for the time capsule using that Timbuk 3 song ruined that song for me for a good 20 years.
Don't forget that there is also an MTV remake, Myles…and from what I've heard, it's not bad.
I tried freeze-framing this, knowing his identity, but can anyone else tell if it matches up on what we see of his face in Season 1? I'm curious if they had the reveal planned at the point when they shot the finale.
I kind of hate that song, but it does get stuck in your head.
Are we having fun yet?
Man, I really hope a movie happens. But all in all, I feel that the series as a whole works nicely in telling a strong story when you watch all 20 episodes from start to finish.
Yeah, but it was a misdirect that never really led to a great story or climax…personally I wasn't blown away by Goren's mentor being the one behind the whole thing.
Nicole Wallace
It's a shame they didn't find a way to bring Nicole Wallace back for a really good send-off. The episode they killed her off in was incredibly weak, and the character really deserved better.
Seriously, Party Down was a very good ending to the series. Even though I wish the show had run another 5 years, upon rewatching the whole run, I was surprised at how satisfying an ending that was.
Oh, you should also check out LUTHER, if you haven't. First season was really good and the second is off to an excellent start…
Being Erica is like a more personal version of Quantum Leap.
British shows to check out: Peep Show, Hustle, Spooks / MI:5. As for a US show, I have to say that I enjoyed the hell out of BLADE: The Series. For a Canadian show, I'd partially recommend Being Erica.
Looking forward to what you think about the second episode.
The field trip episode is the first of Series 2, and it's probably worth watching just for Simon Bird's terrible impression of Yoda.
This episode is a pretty good standalone installment of the series, but probably not my favorite.
I think they're in production, but someone I know saw the pilot at an MTV upfront sort of presentation.
MTV version
Does anyone know when MTV's US remake launches? I've heard that it doesn't suck…at least not as much as the US version of Skins did.
Maybe I'm just not cynical enough…
but I *really* enjoyed this episode on many levels. There were a lot of unexpected lines that made me laugh and the emotional stuff felt about as authentic as a scripted television drama is capable of (on a broadcast network, at least).
