Agreed on both points. Kyle had a great line* early in the episode, when Jen showed up and Mark started to explain who she was. His "You had sex, I know. I don't think this show will ever be great, it doesn't even seem to be trying for that. It has been a pretty standard sitcom, and a mediocre one at that. I'd never seen/heard Maron's work before this, and the show hasn't given me any urge to seek it out.
Agreed. This series has been decidedly mediocre so far and I felt like this was one of the weaker episodes. The A grade was surprising, thought it was a C at best even grading on its own curve.
