I agree wholeheartedly in regards to Caesar being elevated to Tribune so soon after failing to safely return Tiberius.  It was the first time this season where time constraints felt like they were overwhelming this shows usually impeccable plotting and pacing.

I'm disappointed we didn't get a NORMAN BATES ALERT this week.

Agreed.  One of my fears when a show like Spartacus ends is that these actors will go back to doing work in their home country and I won't get a chance to see them again.

Zorro, everything about your post is 100% spot on.  Particularly in regards to the old studio system which literally groomed poise and elegance into it's male and female stars.

I've been thinking about that final look on Crixus' face all night and most of the morning.  Like many I assumed that he would be struck down by 100 men but not before killing 50 of them so those quiet moments of acceptance were a welcome surprise.  That being said I think that an even better moment for Manu was when

First things first, Vera Farmiga is stupidly pretty.  As to the actual show I think it's interesting that in the pilot at least, Norma is clearly unbalanced and probably has some kind of rapid cycle mood disorder while it's not entirely clear if Norman is inherently crazy or if he's slowly becoming mentally corrupted

Every episode I wait for the first axe to truly fall.  First I was sure it would be Saxa when she was separated from gannicus during the slaughter of the roman captives.  Then I thought it would be Saxa AGAIN when she and Agron tried to stop Cesar from opening the gate.  I was so sure that one of the

I haven't even seen this episode yet but BOY was it bad.  WOOF!

A PURRFECT solution.

This episode sadly leaves out Thomas Blake's steadfast canine companion: Catdog.

Yes to "The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank."  There's something very disconcerting about the ending.

The Weather Man is a good movie.

It's about time the AV Club devoted some time to this show.

It's always struck me as odd to hear Jenny Lewis described as a collaborator seeing as how she provides vocals on almost every track on "Give Up."

You and I are of the same mind when it comes to the sexual assault guy taking over.  It's by far the worst story beat the show ever hit; so much so that it has permanently biased me against the actor who played the role.  I audibly groaned when he appeared on The Americans.
And yes, Community starting slow is a

I've never understood the "Fringe is mediocre in its first season" crew and the same goes for the Community fans who feel the same way about that show.  It's certainly fair to say that later seasons of Fringe are much better, and none of the series classic episodes appear in its first year, but it remains solid
