I don't know who is better, Ray Barboni or Jimmy Serrano. In an ideal world they would be the same guy.
it's also probably a stretch to say that every character from The Sopranos could helm a show. The idiot priest, Carmela's shrieking mum etc, some of the really tangential ones I could probably live without. But the semi-regulars like Hesh, Johnny Sack, Artie as mentioned before. I mean, who the hell wouldn't want to…
ok I'll bite . . . Iler was a terrible actor, I won't even try and defend him with that "well he's MEANT to be a teenage idiot" argument. But the show did do some interesting things with the character and how he relates to Tony. I was never 100% convinced by his whole reading the HuffPost and caring about shit phase,…
Lord knows I've tried
Wow, even trying to read this synopsis was tiresome, I gave up at “restricted animated zone”. As much as I really wanted to like Southland Tales, it was an unholy mess.
how they managed to make Ruthless People and not get sued by Elmore is beyond me.
don't forget Get Shorty
doubtful I could've stopped myself tbh
comedy gold
room service must have cost ten cents back then
Other shows like Breaking Bad had weak links (Walt Jr), The Wire got too preachy and ham-fisted with its politics, but honestly there isn't a character on The Sopranos that you cannot imagine having a life (or spin-off show) off the screen. Christ sake, if Saul Goodman can get a spin-off, Artie Bucco needs six fuckin…
the automatic Gatling gun, while entertaining in a fistpumping "Go Walt!" kind of way, was pretty damn stupid if you think about it.
she calls it joyful participation in the sorrow of life
For me it stands head and shoulders above other shows like Breaking Bad or The Wire, let alone Buffy. You can argue about minor plot points (the whole Vito storyline) but none of the other serious contenders are as rich as The Sopranos. The Shield comes closest, but that is an entirely different beast altogether.
Ellroy is just a troll whereas Miller strikes me as a bonafide dickhead
Ellroy gonna Ellroy
actually my dad would never say that unless "electro" meant "turn the light off when you leave the room" and "pioneer" meant "and take the rubbish out"
great book, great film
haha yeah that headline sounded like something my dad would say
