The wonderful podcast Trash, Art, and the Movies discussed this pairing in episode #26. As you might expect, they liked the Ghibli version a lot more.

It was obvious that the reviewers here didn't "get" SPY and wasn't surprised when they stopped covering it, but you'd think they'd make an exception when a podcaster nearly gets his brains blown out by a random psycho and talks about it at length in surreally good-natured detail.

I'm in the same boat as Onanymous (who I  can't reply to for some reason). I've watched the last three eps of Cougar Town because the Extra Hot Great podcast kept extolling its virtues, and I had to check online forums to make sure that I wasn't getting the "off" episodes.  I mean, it's tolerable, but I don't like it
