I, for one, am glad to see Ted Levine back on TV. It's been too long.

Luther was on last night?? I thought it wasn't coming back until Sept. 3rd?
I saw the movie first and then read Master and Commander. After reading O'Brian's descriptions of Capt. Jack Aubrey, I thought Russell Crowe was ideally suited for the role. Crowe also was obviously enjoying himself.
It's great to see all the love for Jimmy Caan here! I first fell in love with him in 1968's Journey to Shiloh. Not a great movie, but hey, I was in 7th grade and had raging hormones! Thus began my love affair with James Caan and it's lasted more than 40 years. His son Scott is nearly the spitting image of his dad.
That diner scene is one of the best of that era. Thief has been in my DVD collection for several years, and I pull it out and rewatch it at least once a year.
Haha! Awesome! It reminds me of a line from Entourage: "He's as nervous as Sonny at the tollbooth."
For someone whose name is Donal Logue, his Irish accent was atrocious. I really like him as an actor, but that took me out of the moment. Oh, well, if Coppers doesn't work out for me, I can always see Logue on Sons of Anarchy and Vikings.
Albino, don't go there. You'll hate yourself. I gave up after the pilot, thank God. Not even worth hate-watching.
Yes! I commented upthread about this. I was totally struck by that juxtaposition. What a great way to unite…and surpass…the entire Hannibal canon.
"Riders on the Storm" by The Doors. "There's a killer on the road; his brain is squirming like a toad…"
That final scene actually mirrors a scene in Manhunter when Will goes to see Lecter in prison for the first time since he was institutionalized…except they swapped places. Nice call-back, if it was intentional.
Mads also has fabulous hair, although he keeps it combed back much of the time in this role.
I don't remember the Red Dragon book clearly and didn't see the movie, but in the movie Manhunter, Will had been slashed quite badly by Hannibal and nearly lost his life along with his mind.
Yeah, Lourdes has become a smug little bitch. I would have lashed out at her, too, crazy or not.
Yep, Oliver's found his groove this week. Last week, I felt like he was trying a bit too hard to be Jon Stewart. Now he's just being himself.
*Ted* Levine. A very underrated and under-used actor, IMO.
Was I the only one who thought that might have been Tobias in the soup? They kept focusing on that black chicken meat in the bowl. *shudder*
You could argue that NBC was crafty in debuting Hannibal late so that it would give viewers something new to watch when there's nothing else on. It would be a great strategy to build viewership. But, then again, it IS NBC…
I'd definitely be living in Popetown. I was worried when they started pushing Colin Cunningham to the fringes in the back half of last season in favor of the Mason clan. I'm glad to see Pope back in the forefront. Cunningham is the most watchable character on this show, IMHO.
I'm sorry you didn't mention In Plain Sight. I thought Mary McCormack's character was so unusual and against the USA "type." The only USA show I watch now is Psych. Not that the other shows are bad, but just not compelling enough to add to my already full TV rotation.
