POI is a unique blend of crime procedural and complicated story arcs. Easy for first-time viewers to get involved, and ongoing plots to please the regulars.  It's been awhile since a broadcast TV show has done that well. According to EW, the dog, "Bear," is now a regular on the show.  Nice.
