Is Above the Below floating around somewhere or did you see it on tv?

It's an interesting question. People really like complaining about him. I would have to disagree, however, with your theory that a bunch of people have google alerts set up to tell them about when his name is spelled incorrectly. That just seems really unlikely.

Then just chill out and watch another movie. Why are you so mad?

RE: How this would be viewed if it wasn't by Korine

I like the song. I just thought what you said was kind of silly.

That's kind of like saying Ice Ice Baby has the best beat this side of Under Pressure.

I gotta say I originally hated Jesse and Scott Aukerman. I stuck around with JJGO cause I liked Jordan and I stuck with CDR for the guests. At this point I like them both a lot. I think it's partially getting familiar with where they're coming from makes them seem less smug. Interestingly, I think the most

RE: Shoulder to the Wheel

Emo came pretty directly out of hardcore. I guess you could argue that the most recent permutations relate to the Cure with the synths and all that, but it took like 20 years to get to that similarity in sound. The best you can do is argue they're related in the sense that emo and the Cure are both mopey, but

nerds
This article really shows how much the site is populated by movie and tv nerds more than music geeks. Only 100 some comments about The Fall is kind of depressing.

Sometimes you really just need to let Mark E Smith yell "Hey there fuckface" for you.

Usually in the Venture Brothers there is something more to the joke than just a name being dropped. With the use of people like Bowie and Eno, there is so much detail there but it still isn't really distracting. You could easily not notice that the one guy is based on Eno. He's just some supervillian wearing goofy

I wanted to love How Much Wood, but I kind of lost interest as it went on. 20 minutes and I would've loved it, but it started to get brutal for me.

Encounters at the End of the World
I'm really surprised you found this one so essential after having seen all his other films. To me it's about as inessential as a Herzog movie gets. It's really fun to watch because it's so breezy and charming, but the themes felt like watered down versions of what he's been saying

Yeah it was definitely following the America's Funniest model. It's a really bizarre presentation style that I can't remember ever being called out so well. The really nailed the look.

A Serious Man was the best I can think of from recent years.

I'm pretty sure Stella was shot on film. They wanted it to have high production values and it shows. Stupid comedy gains a lot when people put that much care into making it.

top notch
That was a lot of fun. A lot of Longstreth interviews are about how wacky and ambitious he is. They kind of make him into a spectacle. It was nice to hear him just sort of dick around about music.

They've all been put up on youtube so far. I'm sure itunes would be way better quality, but they're not impossible to see for free.

They're on youtube. Lower quality than I'd like, but they're there.
