I agree. The primary theme of the show  and the reason it takes place in the 50s is   that this is when the class system began to crack.  Hector is from that class of military families (rather like Anthony Powell's) who are raised along with the landed gentry, have the right accent,  and are considered good catches in

It was also nice to see her slightly stout, middle-aged, independent and brusque. Completely believable as a famous CEO. I have to say I was surprised. I really disliked her perpetual downturned mouth and pouts on both ER and her comedy series. I never wanted to know what she was thinking (as I do with Julianna

That is an inspired idea.

Didn't Margaret stay in her job and work for CJ? By the way, it was clear from the behavior of the others that in this universe CJ is Chief of Staff and isn't sent back to the press briefings. (Allison Janney looks amazing, and she's getting a lot of great quality film work.)

I dunno. One of the things things I remember about flying in the post 9/11 days was looking at AA and UAL flight attendants and thinking that they must be living with a vivid set of mental images that would be hard to quell. Worse if  they'd  known someone in  the dead crews.  I think Sorkin was presenting this crew

I think the point was that the flight crew were from United Airlines and all looked old enough to have worked there ten years before. I thought that was a nice touch, letting us realize their emotional involvement in 9/11 along with Don.  Unfortunately, it was undercut by repeating the basic set-up with the cops.

She's awful in exactly the same way her character is awful. What are the odds of that.

Ah, the white male panic of that era that has ripened into the white male victimization trope of the next generation (see Bill O'Reilly.)
