Their performance at last years Lollapalooza was hands down the best I saw that weekend.

Jake Kasdan has now twice proven to be one of the funniest elements of this show. The extra beat he allowed after "…where nothing gets wet." was wonderful. Add that to earlier this season when he cuts to a shot of a photo of Barack Obama during a seduction gone awry (can't remember the episode) and you've got a potent

With ya on Yeah Yeah Yeahs, though I could heartily do without Silversun Pickups for Lolla.

Forgot to mention Let England Shake, my favorite record of the year. Tears will fall on my pillow tonight.

Agreed, Helplessness Blues and Burst Apart are glaring omissions from this list, with Girls a step behind in my opinion. I'm especially glad about House of Balloons remaining high, ahem, at the end of the year. That record earwormed itself into my brain as much as any other.

Lynchpin? That must be a civil war era linchpin. Ouch.

Antlers
They have a brief break in their Fall tour coinciding with the Fest dates. I hereby request a (spoiler ahead) Lost-style electromagnetic pulse to bring down their plane from Portland. And also land it safely. In Chicago. If they're not already booked. Just please announce this.

Interslice murders Cutco any day of the week. Beeping the pig was cute.

Straight muggin'
If the above picture is any indication, Carl Broemel is not good at posturing. The man can turn loose some solos though.

Another for Radiohead
I was on the fence for Radiohead at Lollapalooza 2008, and one thing I will always remember was the crowd size. It didn't full hit me until I saw the pictures the week after, but my life was in great danger. But they did break out "The Bends", "Optimistic", "No Surprises", and "National Anthem"

McLachlan
"What do you call a mayor? Is it sir?"

I saw him on the same tour at the Chicago Theatre. Get this man talking about food and your facial muscles are in for a rough recovery.
