That's probably the best approach. Burns is one of those writers whose work benefits from multiple re-readings. I still bust out Black Hole about once a year.

Well, he originally ended up as a stuffed preserved corpse in a sideshow, but then during Blackest Night he showed up as a Black Lantern for some reason. So, stuffed corpse or Geoff Johns - pretty tragic either way.

You're not wrong about Hawkeye, but that doesn't mean that the book itself is any less great. It's just another example of Fraction's deft hand at making third-stringers (which Hawkeye is, despite appearing in some movies) likable and interesting. Iron Fist is still cooler though.

I like Snyder's Joker, and think Capullo's art is a 90's hangover eyesore. Shall we duel?

It'll at least give you something to talk about with your pillow wife.

Excellent list this year. My only quibble would be that Archer and Armstrong is better than X-O and the other Valiant reboots.

Please don't read the new Immonen version - it'll break your heart worse than the downer ending of the Gillen run.

I agree - nothing boring or flat about All Star. I could read Jonah Hex forever if Palmiotti and Grey wrote it but All Star is essentially just a twist on the original, not some phoned-in, meddled-with hack work like many of the holdover writers are churning out (Bedard, Tomasi, cough cough).
