There's an old bit from the Simpsons commentaries that's been stuck in my head for a while: Matt Groening deliberately designs characters to have instantly recognizable silhouettes, a large part of which involves hairstyles. You could probably recognize any given Simpsons character with nothing more than a basic

Great album. Neat how well it contrasts to Kendrick's scattered efforts at expressing a grand message.

I would have upvoted if you had called it "Honey Boo Boo".

I hate all of Kendrick's albums (except for Section.80, which was alright), so no you're not alone. I generally don't like this style of rap.

So should the filmmakers have taken time out from the story of the Wrecking Crew to describe 1960s gender politics? I'm a bit confused as to how a woman having a good, enjoyable job and being portrayed as such is a point of criticism.

This reminds me of Paul Simon talking about the "la-la-li" chorus in "The Boxer". Simon admitted in interviews that he just couldn't come up with lyrics, so he stuck with his lazy placeholder chorus. At least he had the decency to be sheepish about it.

The inner circle of the Supreme Soviet commissioned Disney to make an animatronic Stalin in order to keep control of the masses. He had a bigass robot and constantly talked about the wonders of Soviet engineering. It was rad as hell.

The real problem is that they're planning a reboot of their entire universe and they're already scheming about how they can play around with the old continuity. Announcing a reboot by talking about how you can play around with old stories and resurrect dead characters makes you delusional AND arrogant, which is the

Fun fact: the Fantastic Four battled and beat both of them*, making them the greatest American heroes of all time.

Matthew 25:21. I saw him perform it at one of his solo shows and its the only time I've ever heard people cry at a concert.

Tickets at the City Winery are $34 for bar stools. Hopefully Webster Hall will be cheaper but I'm not holding my breath.

Sounds like a great short story. Someone should collect and adapt the first acts of various films of this ilk (mundane work leading to a LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE) into a blog or short story collection.

America - "Sister Golden Hair"

Wall Of Voodoo - "Mexican Radio"

Dear Prudence features all of The Beatles but Ringo on drums, with that one great fill section being all of them overdubbed over each other. Paul was the sole drummer on Back In The USSR, which is not really that impressive of a song.

Psychology essentially got its start as an extension of Descartes' efforts to explain the soul in mundane terms, so its not really that surprising. Shit, we've been doing analyses of historical figures for over half a century, which is basically the same thing as analyzing a fictional character when you think about it.

I'm just curious, as I've never heard anything about this in the past. I'm not holding a "standard for evidence": I'm not making a judgment of anyone.

I don't live on this site, mate.

Something beyond hearsay?

Yeah? I haven't been following Bill Cosby's life very closely; this is the first I've heard of the apparent controversy.
