I'm sure someone thinks we can get Mexico to build a tortilla wall to keep all the rapeseed out.

I could go for a jar of Jai Chutney.

Not mine.

Just pack the mics with high explosives. That'll stop this fad pretty quick smart!

I keep heading over to Old Ben Kenobi's Droid Emporium, but whenever I get there I find they never have the droids I'm looking for.

"What's this sauce?"
"Eh, let's call it ranch."

I'm a bit out of step with other commenters here. I like One, Two, Three but I think there are very good reasons it's considered one of Wilder's B-movies. This isn't really a criticism because B-grade Wilder is flawed but still plenty good…but I can't elevate it to the same circle as Double Indemnity, Ace in the Hole,

Ich bin ein Hamburger?

The Libyans weren't really the villains of that movie — they're more a kind of subplot. The real villains were Biff and his gang. And let's not forget they were angry because Doc Brown had stolen from them!

The first Rugrats episode was from 1922?

If you go trawling through old Soviet propaganda posters, most of them are laughable but the ones on the oppression of blacks in the 50s and 60s are actually pretty powerful. Shows that even blatant propagandists can hit some home runs when the story doesn't need exaggeration.

I suspect that Russia maybe could have had China's population if Stalin hadn't kept starving entire nations to death.

Kremlin trolls also think the Ukraine wants to be resorbed into Russia, that the missing MH17 was disappeared by the US using the premise of John Varley's "Millennium", and that Bashar al-Assad is a stand-up guy.

Yes, but Die Hard never presents the villains as representatives of their countries the way Rocky IV did.

certainly beats morose sex

Which will be lighter and have more battery life.

Horn v Claw

Ah, I had no idea. I guess it's like the original Body Snatchers movie. The filmmakers denied that it was about McCarthyism but it fits so well that it works as a critique anyway.

"How could he start a nuclear war? He can't even say it!"

I liked it. Thanks for the tip.
