The very best use of old music in the Fallout universe was putting "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire" over the intro to Fallout 3. The song has nothing to do with nuclear apocalypse. It's just a lovely 1940s romantic ballad, but damn if its unintended double meaning didn't pay off in spades in that intro.

Not to mention "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall", esp. Bryan Ferry's magnificent version.
