Looks like I found my thread, because I liked this episode too.  I thought the scenes with Dexter and Hannah displayed a new level of chemistry, particularly the pancakes scene.  And rejecting the notion of the dark passenger is a logical step in the evolution of the character.

In fairness to Carla, I thought it was odd how all the judges goggled at this revelation.  While many dishes can be repeatedly sampled throughout service for quality control, you can't just cut into a piece of meat intended for the dining room.
