Yeah well put. Usually when I mention the movie to people, they tell me how "dumb" the movie is because "there is no ending". I always liked that an optimist would think the freighter's scientists would be successful in finding a solution, whereas a pessimist would feel that it was all for nothing.

I'd have thought Children of Men would get a mention with whether or not the freighter at the end would save mankind.

Took me a while to believe that was what happened and that I didn't miss something earlier.
