I think this season had more continuity/storylines in it (in the first season Boyd would just disappear for episodes at a time), but it never knows what to do with its politics. The characters have their opinions, they are laughed at, and it avoids making a point.
I first saw the last half of "The Midnight Sun" on a New Year's rerun when I was younger. It scared me off of The Twilight Zone for a while.
