A fantastic episode in terms of laughs and even some more character- and plot-work. When Chloe called out "The movie 'The Help'!" twice, it slew me. And James' "tough to prove" was a great runner.

I'm weirdly into this.
And the way she appeared on Lila's doorstep and greeted her *literally* five times. Dakota Johnson and Dreama Walker are slowly turning my opinion about blondes.
I forgot about that. Speaking of episodes randomly dotted around, where's our season 2 set? I'm guessing we won't be seeing it for a while, since they're about to release that Fionna & Cake set.
My thoughts exactly. I remember someone once saying something along the lines of "I think Adventure Time's quality sometimes hinges on the big, "epic" episodes more than on the series as a whole (that is, including the "also-ran" episodes)." We're not always going to have a home run, but I certainly enjoy how the…
After reading everyone's comments above me, I have to voice just a few points of my opinion. I do sometimes wish that the show would allow more time for specific plots which offer deep and striking views of the characters or their predicaments; and in a perfect world, this show would have the ability to choose to make…
I've had to play catch-up too, but the series is fantastic, as is the first issue of Fionna & Cake. That's too bad about Marceline &TSQ. What about them did you not like? I was planning on going out to buy the series this week (or wait for the collection to come out). I'd hate to think it was "unreadable".
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!
You mean the one right before the opening? The "oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-that-just-came-out-of-your-mouth" look?
When Lady (?) pushed Jake's hat (his Dad's) off and he grew one on.
As much as I love Viola, Jake Jr. wins by a weirdly messed-up face and awesome voice-actor.
And the way he jumped in the way of Jake's (intentional?) kiss was adorable.
"Don't touch that butterfly, you know, because of germs."
*butterfly gives Jake side-glance, continues to fly away*
It's episodes like these that really make me question my borderline obsession with this show. On the one hand, you have epic, emotionally-jarring, world-hinging episodes, and on the other hand you have pretty run-of-the-mill episodes that are cute and fun but that can have some personal truths. The mass appeal of the…
Avatar/comment synergy!

I thought your avatar was a dead bird on the floor, not an Andrew Bird album cover. What's that say about me?
I've never said this to anyone on here, but whenever I expand a commenter's profile and look at their avatar, I'm always surprised by what I thought was their avatar versus what it actually turns out to be. Examples: Hero of Akron-Canton, Semi-Bored Torontonian, Archmage of the Aether.
Scary shit, but I'm in. I would love to take an unsuspecting date to see this.
*crosses fingers*
Wonderful work, @violincatherine:disqus . As much as people may say this episode is boring or uneventful (this coming from fans that I know and also the commentary on the DVDs), I still love to watch all the visual gags and jokes unfold throughout. It is one of the more hilarious episodes I can remember. The cold open…
Sorry for the late, late, late, sooooo very late reply, but I did end up watching a few forgettable episodes and it is indeed lackluster, at least by my standards. Tant pis.
