Uh-oh. Well, don't worry, that's why I said less-well-known. I should have said borderline-unknown. In any case, it never fails to yo-yo it's way back to my memory from time to time.
I do indeed like to imagine that I can play the piano when I'm drunk enough, but it ends up sounding like bad improv-jazz or good atonal serialism.
That is ultimately what I expect to happen, after all of this build-up: it will either be tolerable or uninteresting. I should probably do the same and watch one early episode and one later episode, but I don't have high hopes.
Alright, everyone, I came here to say I apologize for not being here and participating in the joy of the holiday with a bunch of people on the internet. I've been really busy these last two weeks because I'm moving and I've had to make a lot of repairs and had to repaint a large portion of the new apartment. I've also…
"—Se quiere hacer cura.
—¿Qué son esos?
—Pastillas para los hemorroides.
—Deme dos."
"—Quando estábamos en la finca, nosotros usábamos vejiga de oveja. Era un sólo gasto y fin."
I remember that in each intro there would be that shot of them playing video games lying upside-down on the bed with the television upside-down as well. It always hit me as strange because I couldn't stand being in that position for more than a few minutes at a time; but, then again, I didn't have friends to help me…

@avclub-9e670ec7c7f903af7dcb7a71086e980d:disqus . why were you such a dick to Tolkien? and Why did you disagree so much with Nabokov on his translation of Eugene Onegin?

@avclub-dd559568c01f9208a72241c9d58fdc16:disqus , for illuminating my mistake with your knowledge, I will reward you by telling you that I "Liked" your response.
I can appreciate a virtuoso performance if it's done to my liking, as you said, playing the notes in tune and in time, Hamelin being one virtuoso who plays too fast for my taste.
I'm different in that I prefer my orchestral music to be loud and frenetic and my jazz to be sinuous and brooding, although there are…
I could have sworn they were wandering for a couple of months, but I haven't seen the chronology in the Appendices in a while, so I'll believe you. And yes, I remember why he left; I was only pointing out that neither the book nor the movie ever show them getting along or even talking together.

I'm sure that must have entered Cage's mind at some point during his career, but maybe the patterns are just clearer when they're put in a montage.
Thanks @violincatherine:disqus , somehow the piano version adds a level of surrealism to the work that the orchestra version doesn't have.
Also, can I ask you something? I've been listening to a lot of Janine Jansen's performances and, while she is certainly one of the best technical violinists I've listened to, there…
I was trying to decide which performance of Saint-Saëns' "Introduction and Rondo capriccioso" I like the most when I remembered about the greatest rendition I have ever heard of one of the most important minimalist works of the 20th century.
I have waited
Dined on lembas
Swung from ents and climbed the Misty Mountains
And none of it's got me close to this.
I already feel bad about liking this comment. I only did it because this day went from middling to good to great in the span of 10 hours and I'm also getting back on the metaphorical wagon after a week of being sick.
Cheers.
