I agree. I just think they sometimes tempered it with self-digs that always muddied the waters a bit for me. As if, "yeah, it sucks, but maybe we're not so great either."

On "Range Life"…
Come on, sweet babies, I thought this had been sorted out. Pavement "disses" these bands, yet equates themselves with them. On the Pumpkins: "I/They don't have no function."'
"I will agree there isnt absolutely nothing
Nothing more than me."
I would bump "Spirit" up. It is vastly underrated and has some of my favorite guitar tone that Willie ever put down in a studio. Just a beautiful little record. "She Is Gone," "Too Sick To Pray," "I Guess I've Come to Live Here" . . . I think it stands right beside his best work.
I need to pick up that "…Sings…
I don't own a gun. My father owns guns. We both can't stand the NRA. I was also pro-hardcore-gun control, but ever since, oh, around November 2nd, 2000, I've reconsidered that stance quite a bit. I mean, if Dick Cheney was on my lawn . . .
Great discussion. Thanks to all.
I was hoping against hope
that this might be good. I'm ready for a good horror film. Hopefully THE STRANGERS will live up to that creepy-ass trailer.
Has anyone seen the original French film THEM ( or ILS)? It's currently a "very long wait" for me in Netflix.
SLAPSHOT may be the best sports movie ever made. Great Thanksgiving day movie. Dont know exactly why.
I think the Britney episode is the strongest of the new season so far.
Wow.
Thanks, Scott.
Scott, can I make a Spoiler Request as to what was on the TV in the U.S. version? I've seen and well, loved, is the wrong word, the first film and will probably wait until dvd for this one. Or a link to the info?
I was stoned in the bathroom 6 months ago
and "I Saw You First" came on the radio and I realized that it is a fantastic tune.
Like, really good.
Fat Suit!
Fat suit. I want Fat Suit!
Pavement ist back?

For anybody thinking's Kima's the "bad guy" here:
you should read Simon's most recent ESQUIRE article:
I actually agree. He is up for anything, and is charming as a motherfucker on talk shows.
Also, he was one of the better SNL hosts of the last decade or so. He and Garth Brooks, actually.
The "real" Bubbles died of AIDS and Simon's already allowed him to have a negative HIV test, so I hope fictional Bubs can survive.
Oh, you're right about Nathan, uuhiothi. As evidenced by his #2 album of last year, "Alright, Still" by Lily Allen.
And while he was writing here he could've been hitting us with a new MYOF.
Wow Nathan. Otis Redding over the Black Crowes. Way to go out on a limb, you big, brave boy you.
Next thing you know you'll be saying that the Cheap Trick "That 70's Show" theme song isn't as good as the Big Star version.
Either way "Thick N' Thin" off the first record rocks harder than anything you're listening to…
Then again, I also like sex and whiskey.
Southern Harmony is perfect start to finish. And they're one of the most shit-kickin' fun live bands you'll ever see.
