I would have enjoyed it so much more if the bass player had huge hairy biceps and big man hands.  Someone needs to photoshop it.

Oh god that was dreadful.  It was so over the top and unbelievable, and the grandmother reacting as she did was just idiotic.  Horrid and stupid on every level, the whole episode.

I think it's more that she has an absolutely terrible role.  What is her character?  "Sweet, simple"?  That's pretty much it.  There's no bite, no edge, no fight.  I've seen this actress in an earlier teen movie and she had much better material to work with.
